inlab
An initiative of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), inlab is managed by the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) and the facility is located within the premise of the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI).
inlab is established as one of the four key drivers of iN.LEARN 2020, the broader national strategy promoting the adoption of technology-enabled Continuing Education and Training (CET) in Singapore. Housing inlab with some leading training providers in LLI provides close proximity and easy access to support the CET community’s move to embrace learning innovation.
Set up as the hub for learning innovation in CET, inlab goes beyond catalysing technology-enabled learning. By providing resources and facilities, it also targets to nurture innovation in all aspects of CET, from curriculum design and content development to delivery.
To realise learning innovation, inlab takes on five key roles :
- Space for Innovation
inlab is designed and equipped with facilities, equipment and tools to support experimentation, collaboration and project work on learning innovation.
- Strengthen Capability
inlab offers programmes, workshops and business clinics to help the CET community strengthen their capability in all aspects and functions related to learning innovation, from curriculum design and delivery to business management and marketing.
- Spur Knowledge Exchange
As a learning innovation hub, inlab is where CET professionals, the industry, relevant government agencies and employers come together to share current and latest best practices, knowledge and expertise.
- Matchmake Expertise
inlab helps to match relevant expertise in the industry, for instance in learning technologies, training design and blended learning, to CET professionals who may need such expertise to catalyse innovation in adult education and training.
- Facilitate Collaboration
Through the facilities and programmes, inlab facilitates synergy and collaboration among CET stakeholders, including adult educators, training providers and technology vendors.
To encourage and facilitate the CET community to explore and adopt innovative learning design and approaches, inlab has available Media Production Suite (MPS) available for rental. MPS comprising one media production studio (Shoot! room) and two audio recording rooms (i.e. Cut! And Stitch! Rooms) at level 6 that can be rented individually or as a whole.
· Shoot! Room
Interested parties who wish to rent the “Shoot!” room may choose to rent only (a) the space that comes with green wall or (b) the space with full AV equipment. For the latter, it includes: HD camcorder, broadcast/ studio LED lights, digital video switches, mixers, digital scalers, amplifiers, recorder, chroma keyer, wireless, LCD screen, wireless mic and teleprompter.
· Cut! And Stitch! Room
The rental of Cut! And Stitch! rooms will come with mic, headphone and high-end i7 desktop PC supported with editing software like
- Avid Media Composer
- Audacity
- Articulate Storyline 2
- Creative Cloud Apps
- IMC Content Studio
